Great for kids development!My 9 month old needed physical therapy for some developmental delays. Her therapist uses this toy during her therapy sessions with my baby. My baby loves it! I bought it and both my kids love playing with this toy. The only reason I give it four stars is because it really should have a storage area for the balls in the back of the boat. The balls are small and I spend so much time searching for them in my kids toy box. It would have been better if the boat was designed with a way to store the balls when the kids are done using it. Other than that this toy helps with grip strength, hand eye coordination, and arm strength. Highly recommended. 413 month old not quite readyGreat toy! I bought an earlier version of this toy for my daughters many years ago and it was study and high quality. The plastic on this one was much cheaper and the balls were plastic instead of rubber. My little one would say the colors of the balls before she hammered them into the hole. She enjoyed watching them come out of the bottom of the boat. I loved it so much that I bought it for home, and she still loves playing with it. (It'll also come in handy when my son is born and old enough for it.) Great toy. 5Very solid well made toyLove this toy, so well made, I first encountered this toy through a PT, and had to get it for my grand daughter, who loves it. 5Kind of a one trick ponyFirst of all, this toy is really cute and colorful! I bought it for my son's first birthday, and he initially loved it! I set the balls up for him, and he happily whacked them and watched the roll down the ramp. However, it got old after a few minutes. How many times can you whack a ball and watch it roll down the ramp? I really, really tried to use this toy in different ways (like trying to have him match the color of the ball to the color of the hole at the top of the boat, or turning the flag so that it blocks the balls from rolling down the ramp), but it just did NOT hold either one of my children's attention. I even put it away in the garage for awhile and then brought it back out a couple of weeks later to see if my children might have a different reaction to it. However, it was always the same: initial excitement and then disinterest. I will say that it gets 3 stars because it is an extremely well made toy. The balls are made out of heavy plastic that cannot be crushed. The boat is solid, and so is the hammer. Maybe another child would have a different reaction to this toy, but it wasn't a hit in this household. 3Five StarsTerrific Toy! My grands twins (16 Months and 2 1/2 y/o all enjoy this toy. Good investment. 5Great toy for toddlers and preschoolersEven though my 3yo son is on the upper range of this toy's age group, he loves it. In fact I bought it because he loved it so much, he played with it at school and cried and cried about having to leave it there. My 1yo daughter also likes it, she is just getting the hang of hitting the balls with the mallet but it's very entertaining for her. As an educational toy, it's a good "passive", non-electronic toy that still keeps kids interested. It's very well made and good for play / language development. 5
