    Learning math the fun way!This is a great game for 2nd - 4th graders learning all different basic math skills from addition to division. With 6 dice, it certainly allows for a lot of variations on how to reach the needed number to pass the lasers. We played the long version of moving through the museum both in and out and that made for a really fun time. Even as an adult, this game is really up my alley!4Amazing and I think it's for all agesMy 5 years old loved it by the time he turn 6 he start making new games out of it about math problem . Amazing for family nights. I know it say 13 and up but my 5 years old is the one who fell in love with it in my family5Another Haba winner-- great for all elementary age kidsThis is a great game the whole family can enjoy. We modify the rules slightly if needed. Any operations of math are allowed for the older ones (11 year used the square root of 9 yesterday-- 6 year old can use a di more than once if wanted in every turn ie. 2+2+2 etc).5GREAT for homeschool games!We homeschool (3rd grader and kindergartner). My kids LOVE this game. My kindergartner doesn't even realize he's doing math! Easy to customize the rules to simplify it for him. They beg to play this game!5a few changes to the instructions pushes the game into higher critical thinking for older kidsThis is a pretty good math game. I like that you can make it harder or simpler depending on the age of the child and that its fun/motivating to play. I wish we were not breaking into a museum and stealing an Egyptian relic (for moral reasons), but the jumping past lasers is fun to imagine. Overall, My husband and I make a few changes to the instructions in order to push the game into higher critical thinking.Game play: Mix the number cards. I find it best to mix in a closed bag so kids can't see the numbers and just pick easy ones. When a card is picked out of the bag the number facing you is what you place on the board (no flipping it over and pretending you didn't see 19 first!). Set the number anywhere you want on the board in an empty square and orient it so it matches the laser beams. Once all the number cards are placed on the board, place your "person" at start which is the entrance door to the museum. There are six dice and you roll them at the start of your turn. We roll them in the game box or lid to keep from losing them. When lasers are in front of your person, you can only cross if you "break the code." In other words, you have to calculate the number using the dice you roll. The player must add, multiply, divide, and subtract any combination of the dice's numbers to calculate the laser number. Whichever die are used to break a code are set aside (in our case outside of the box) and your person jumps over the laser number. At this point, the game instructions state to re-roll the unused die and the player continues the game to jump the next laser... a player continues this process until they can no longer move or all the die are used. However, we prefer to not allow re-rolls for older children because this forces planning out a strategy to jump as many lasers as possible from the very beginning of their turn... and thus find the best combination/usage of the dice. To get the most out of the die you need to think beyond addition and multiplication. Either way, i suggest that the mathematics be said aloud or written down to prove it was done correctly. If math is wrong you can either have the player rework the numbers or lose their turn depending on what the kid can handle. In the game, there are places where the path divides to go around an object like a dino skeleton. Players can choose which side to take, but once committed to a path they cannot jump over the obstacle to get onto the other path so you have to choose wisely. Whichever player gets to the mask first, wins.If you have a younger child, only allow addition or subtraction (and skip the higher level mathematics). When you place the number cards on the board, be sure to pick smaller numbers the child knows, shows up on the die, or can be reached by adding only 2 numbers. You can also limit the number of dice rolled so they do not feel overwhelmed.4Good game that grows with youI bought this for an 8 year old and his 5 year old brother was able to play as well. It can really grow with you as you can start by just using addition and subtraction and then add multiplication and division.5Have fun learning mathHave fun learning math, my students love this game4A great educational math game that is actually enjoyable to play!We were looking for games that were actually fun that would help our 10 year old with her math skills. This game has become my 7-year old's favorite game. It is definitely a math-y game, but in a way that doesn't scream 'my parents are trying to trick me into enjoying math but it isn't working' kind of way.You roll dice and then use addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to try to manipulate the numbers on the dice to match a code on the board. You 'enter' the code, and advance your burglar to the vault. Once you pass a code spot, the code 'resets', and you flip over the tile. The next person has to make numbers match a different code.This game is definitely for younger players (5th grade and below), but if parents enjoy playing games with their children, this is a decent game that does involve some skill, unlike Life or Candy Land. We are pleased with this game, and have even given it as a gift to someone else.5Math on the slyGreat math game that challenges players to use all functions of basic math to win. Reinstates a form of intrinsic motivation for learning math lost in rewards/punishment graded education system. Moving forward on the path is the reward for a problem well done. Best of all, it doesn't feel like math assignments, cause it's not. It's a game.5Favorite Game in a 3rd Grade ClassroomAs a third grade teacher I am always looking for games that are fun but also help my students develop, improve, and maintain their number sense and mental math computation skills. The biggest issue I see with many games is that they just aren't fun for my kids when played more than a few times. This game, however, continues to be a favorite among my students.The rules are simple to understand and each student can work within their comfort zone. Those who can do multiplication or division can use it, but students who aren't there yet, can use any other operation to reach their results.Additionally, their are rules for more experienced agents, which makes this game even fun for adults as well. It keeps us sharp and is load of fun :)5
