Customer Reviews

don't understand itThe instructions don't make any sense. No idea how to play this game. From the description I thought this was more of a fun couple discussion game, but nothing about it makes sense and other online sources to help you understand the game still left my wife and I at a loss. 1Five Starsfun family game 5I am sure it could be fun but we thought it was more of actual conversation ...Not at all what me and my spouse thought this would be. I am sure it could be fun but we thought it was more of actual conversation starters rather than a game. I guess we can use just the convo starting cards. 1The worstThis game is the worstIt makes no sense 1Yikes.I tried to play this with my husband, I read the instructions online twice and i get the gist, but it's just not fun or funny at all. The instructions are terrible. The example cards on the instructions don't match the actual cards in the box, and there are a few seemingly important things that are either unexplained in the instructions or contradictory to what's on the cards. The emotion, setting, and starter comment cards all have a number on the back of them between 1 and 3. They also have a list of 3 emotions, setting, and comments. Neither of these are explained in the instructions, and the sample in the instructions only has 1 emotion, setting, or comment per card. The instructions also clearly say that "every card" must be played faced down, but some of the cards say on them that they should be played face up. Maybe this is a different version from the instructions on the website? But there is no mention of different versions. Even if it wasn't confusing and poorly explained, we just didn't think it was a fun idea for a game at all. We were excited about this since it's hard to find a good 2 person game, but we will have to keep looking. 1Not for Every PersonalityMy husband and I love board/card games so we thought we'd try it out. The concept is good. It definitely looks like it would be fun in a group setting. But for just the two of us, I didn't find it to be very enjoyable. We do not have the personalities that can quickly make up something funny that you would see in a comedy like "Whose Line is it Anyways," and I think that's the kind of personality needed to play this game. It would be enjoyable watching other people play it though. 3There are better games out there at this priceI don't know why so many people are raving in the reviews for this game...it's really actually deceiving. This game is OKAY, at best. I would definitely NOT compare it to the majesty of apples to apples. It is pretty basic and didn't provide much context to the conversations it started. Also, the instructions were difficult to interpret. Everyone who read them had a different opinion on how the game is played. I wouldn't suggest buying this game, there are better ones out there that are more of a "sure thing" than this one. 3The question "What?!?" was asked many times, never got to the "oh"Remember the game of Bamboozled from Friends, where Joey is trying out to be the game show host and Ross and Chandler help him practice and the game makes absolutely no friggin sense? I can only assume that was the inspiration for this game. It's the most confusing game I've ever tried to understand, and the video to explain it, which has the production value of amateur porn, does not clear anything up. I will say that my hubby and I got a hearty laugh when the explainer video cut to people actually playing the game in order to "clear up any lingering questions" because 1) we had more questions after starting the video than we did before and, 2) you can't actually hear much when watching people play the game. In the end though, the fun we had trying to figure this game out, did bring us closer together and make us feel like a real team - hence the second star. As Chandler said when Ross proclaimed he was losing while they played Bamboozled, "I think we're all losers right now." 2Fun game to get conversation goingFun game to get conversation going. I've only played it with one other person, not in a group of four. But my girlfriend and I enjoy the banter 4Meh.I suppose it would be fun for some but my husband I played it with a few friends and it just was too confusing. 2
